[Conference Update]
The First International Symposium on Bigu-for-Health Preservation
The First International Symposium on Bigu-for-Health Preservation (BHP) will be held June 8-10, 2017 at Beijing. The purpose of the symposium is to bring together researchers from the world to share work on food abstinence and Bigu health preservation. The symposium is organized by China Association of Chinese Medicine (CACM) and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) , hosted by the Institute of Health Cultivation at BUCM and the Health Cultivation and Rehabilitation Branch of CACM, and co-hosted d by Yu Shou Gu Health Management (Beijing) co., Ltd.
The theme of the conference features the current practice and future research directions of BHP under the context of the health cultivation theory of traditional Chinese Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and Medicine. We aim to explore the essence of BHP combined with methods and technologies of modern medicine, and to promote the human health and to uncover the mechanism behind the BHP.
Location: The 2nd Fl, Lecture Hall, Yifu Building, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (No.11, Bei San Huan Dong Lu, Chaoyang District).
Registration: June 8, 12:30pm – 5:00pm. Beijing Guizhou Hotel (No.18 Street, Heping West Bridge, Chaoyang District).

- Similarities and differences of Chinese Bigu and Western practice of food
- BHP’s impact on overweight, obesity and related disease such as the metabolic diseases
Call for papers:
- We invite researchers in related fields to submit work on those five We also encourage researchers to focus on the connection between theory, empirical work, and its applicability. The conference language is Chinese (simultaneous interpreting is available for attendees from other countries). PowerPoint presentations are expected.
