{"id":5163,"date":"2011-11-15T04:30:02","date_gmt":"2011-11-15T09:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yang-sheng.com\/?p=5163"},"modified":"2012-01-10T10:33:19","modified_gmt":"2012-01-10T15:33:19","slug":"the-purpose-of-medical-qigong-is-to-balance-yin-yang","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yang-sheng.com\/?p=5163","title":{"rendered":"The Purpose of Medical Qigong is to Balance Yin &#038; Yang"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Purpose of Medical Qigong is to Balance Yin &amp; Yang<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>by George Xavier Love, OMD<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Yin and Yang &#8211; Diagnosis<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Chinese system of diagnosis and treatment is a commonsense approach to healing with over 5000 years of proven efficacy.\u00a0 The general concepts of balance are similar to those used throughout the Orient, in East Indian Ayurvedic medicine, and even by native Americans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The most important concept to understand about the system involves the ability to diagnose imbalances using the theory of Yin and Yang. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/yang-sheng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Yin-Yang-shaped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5465\" title=\"Yin-Yang-shaped\" src=\"http:\/\/yang-sheng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Yin-Yang-shaped.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"287\" height=\"191\" \/><\/a>The Yin\/Yang theory is a teaching method and does not define anything absolute.\u00a0 It shows the way to develop and intuitive approach to diagnoses and treatment.\u00a0 Thus it is important to avoid getting too attached to the symbols Yin and Yang for they are only tools. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Yin and Yang represent the two essential opposites that make up all opposites.\u00a0 They find their physiological roots in the complementary action of the adrenal glands.\u00a0 The adrenal cortex controls the more Yin, parasympathetic nervous system dealing with body maintenance, including digestion, circulation, elimination, anti-inflammation and reproduction.\u00a0 The adrenal-medulla controls the sympathetic nervous system which is involved in the anti-stress or &#8220;fight or flight&#8221; response, the immune system, protection and stimulation of primary bodily response.\u00a0 Thus, the Ancient Chinese texts say that the root of Yin and Yang in our bodies is in the kidneys, meaning the small adrenal glands, which are attached to the kidneys. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Treatment is based upon counterbalancing Yin-cold-deficient-chronic diseases with Yang-warm-full foods and herbs and Yang-hot-excess-acute disease with Yin-cool-empty foods and herbs.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Theories of Yin &amp; Yang<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1.\u00a0 Infinity divides itself into Yin &amp; Yang.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. Yin &amp; Yang result from the infinite movement of the universe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. Yin is centripetal and Yang is centrifugal; together they produce all energy and phenomena<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4.\u00a0 Yin attracts Yang and Yang attracts Yin<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5.\u00a0 Yin repels Yin and Yang repels Yang<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6.\u00a0 The force of attraction and repulsion between the two phenomena is proportional to the difference in their Yin-Yang constitution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7. All Phenomena are ephemeral and are constantly changing their Yin and Yang constitution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8.\u00a0 Nothing is solely Yin or Yang&#8217;; everything involves polarity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9.\u00a0 Nothing is neutral; either Yin or Yang is always more abundant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10.\u00a0 Yin and Yang are relative; large Yin attracts small Yin; Large Yang attracts small Yang.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11. At the extremity of their manifestation, Yin produces Yang and Yang produces Yin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 12.\u00a0 All physical forms are Yin at the center and Yang at the surface<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To illustrate these opposites, the chart of Qualities of Yin and Yang shows examples of the differing attributes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span one looks for Yin-like or Yang-like conditions in both the basic constitution of the person and in the nature of the ailment.\u00a0 The chart of Yin conditions and Yang conditions shows examples of characteristics you might find present.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Laws Governing Yin and Yang<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1.\u00a0 The ten thousand things come from one unified field called infinity<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2.\u00a0 All things must changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3.\u00a0 All
